John Francis Luck, 85, of Scarborough Maine, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023. His loved ones were by his side in his last days.

John (Jack) was born on November 16, 1937 to Francis and Vivian (Dumas) Luck in Burlington, VT. After Jack graduated from Cathedral High School, he served in the United States Navy.

When Jack was 15 he met Harriet Middlebrook (14) at Camp Kiniya. They dated until August 13, 1960, when Jack married Harriet, the love of his life. They remained happily married for 63 years. Jack and Harriet had three children; Jeffrey, Jennifer and Elizabeth.

Jack worked at the New England Telephone Company for many years. In 1974, together, he and Harriet opened Ebenezer Allen, a gift shop in South Hero, VT. Jack was a fearless entrepreneur!

This venture would grow into them opening several gift shops and numerous other stores throughout VT before moving to Arizona.

Jack was an amazing person; so kind and gentle. Jack loved to travel, especially to the Caribbean, and he loved to garden as well. Later in life, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him much joy. Jack had an amazing and contagious smile, one that would make you smile back.

Jack is survived by his wife Harriet, his daughters Jennifer Luck-Hill (Dennis Hill) and Elizabeth Sheeran (Dave Sheeran),  his siblings Patricia Charlebois, David Luck, Janet McCracken, Stephen Luck, Daniel Luck, as well as his grandchildren Emily O’Brien, Lauren Clemons, Joseph Canales, Lyndsay Sheeran, Rebecca Newsome, Cynthia Sheeran, and his great-grandchildren Peter O’Brien, Roderick O’Brien, Anne Clemons, Cassidy LaBombard and Tyler Newsome.

Jack was predeceased by his son Jeffrey Luck, his parents Francis and Vivian Luck, and his siblings Patrick Luck, Sandra Horvath, Judith Luck, Susan Massonneau, Karen Black, Jane North, and James Luck.

Jack will be missed tremendously by his family, friends and any that had the pleasure of knowing him.
