After arresting four people last week in a deadly shooting in St. Johnsbury, Vermont State Police are now seeking a fifth suspect.

The four people arrested were all charged in connection with the drug robbery and murder last month of 49-year-old Israel Jimenez Lugo at the St. Johnsbury apartment where he was living.

According to a state police news release, a warrant has now been issued for the fifth suspect, identified as Danny Daniels, 30, of Philadelphia. He is wanted on charges of aiding in the commission of first-degree murder, aiding in the commission of assault and robbery with a weapon, and aiding in the commission of burglary, according to state police.

The warrant calls for Daniels to be held without bail, if apprehended.

According to the news release, court records in the case accuse Daniels of being involved in drug trafficking. He allegedly organized a plan for four people who owed him money to rob Lugo. During that robbery, one of the suspects arrested last week is accused of shooting and killing Lugo, the news release stated.

Daniels, who police said also uses the names “Miami” and “Kyle,” was last seen in St. Johnsbury about a week after the homicide.

He has lived in the St. Johnsbury and Derby areas, and also has connections to Troy, Vermont, as well as Pennsylvania, authorities said.
