The candidates seeking to become Vermont’s next lieutenant governor are going head-to-head on the virtual stage on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the final VTDigger debate before November’s general election.

The major party nominees, Sen. Joe Benning, R-Caledonia, and Progressive/Democratic former lieutenant governor David Zuckerman, will face questions from VTDigger senior editor Mike Dougherty and reporter Riley Robinson. The candidates will also respond to questions submitted by readers (share yours below).

The lieutenant gubernatorial debate will begin at 6 p.m. and will be livestreamed on VTDigger.org. Register now to receive the link to the stream.

The debate is sponsored by Vermont-NEA. 

It is the final event in the 2022 Digger Debate Series, which began in April with a primary election debate for the U.S. House. It continued in September with debates for governor, U.S. Senate and U.S. House. Catch up on those debates here
