Two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man last weekend in City Hall Park in Burlington, according to a press release issued early Thursday morning by the Burlington Police Department.

Police allege Christopher Crawford, 42, of New Jersey, fatally shot Bryan C. Rogers II, 32, of Philadelphia. Crawford faces a charge of first-degree murder.

Joseph Craig, 59, of St. Albans, faces a charge of accessory to first-degree murder, according to the release. Police did not elaborate on the role they believe he played in Rogers’ death.

Both men were arrested Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Police said Rogers was shot in the head at about 12:42 a.m. Sunday. Rogers’ death was Burlington’s third homicide this year and the 12th incident in which a bullet struck a person.

Crawford was held without bail and lodged at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans, according to the release. Craig was lodged there for lack of $5,000 bail.

No other information was immediately available.
