As Vermont prepares for the most competitive election season in years, VTDigger is working to introduce candidates to voters. The nonprofit newsroom plans to host at least four forums this summer as part of its 2022 Digger Debate Series.

The debates — some of which will take place in person and all of which will be livestreamed — include major party candidates engaged in competitive primary campaigns. VTDigger may schedule additional debates later this summer if other competitive races emerge.

Each debate is moderated by VTDigger reporters and editors and feature questions submitted by readers.

Following Vermont’s Aug. 9 primary, VTDigger will launch a series of general election debates this fall. Those will include a Sept. 8 U.S. Senate debate at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester and a Sept. 15 U.S. House debate at the Barre Opera House. Stay tuned for more debate announcements by subscribing to VTDigger’s daily newsletter.
