Richmond, Vermont – September 11, 2017

We can’t rely on national leadership to address climate change. Local action is more important than ever! Vermont Interfaith Power and Light’s annual conference, “Building Local Resilience-Inspiring Local Climate Action”, will focus on local resilience and climate action. It will be held Saturday, October 21, 10AM-4PM, at the First Congregational Church, 3624 Main Street, Manchester, VT.

Vermont Interfaith Power and Light (VTIPL, is a Vermont non-profit whose mission is to support the efforts of faith and spiritual communities to take action on global climate change.

The conference will feature:

Keynote Speaker: Deb Markowitz, former Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources

Workshops Topics:
· Building Resilient Communities
· Climate Legislation Advocacy
· Climate Science Update
· Resources for Energy Projects
· Effective Community Organizing
· Watershed Stewardship
Plus: Roundtable discussion on fossil fuel divestment, catered lunch, sponsors’ exhibits and book table, as well as music and spiritual sharing
