Vermont Energy Control Systems, selected by Congressman Welch’s Office to Attend the Internet of Things (IoT) event in Washington

Vermont Energy Control Systems (VECS) is an Addison County, Vermont company selected by Congressman Peter Welch’s office to attend the IoT (Internet of Things) annual showcase event which highlights innovation and technology on Capitol Hill in Washington on June 13th, hosted by the Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection. VECS was chosen because they are an emerging Vermont business which designs and manufactures electronic devices using cutting edge technology for IoT applications.
The Internet of Things encompasses any and all devices which can be connected to the Internet and to each other, it is a giant network of connected items embedded with Internet connectivity and networked sensors. From consumer to commercial applications the potential is limitless; “smart” homes and cars, agriculture, health care, energy, manufacturing and beyond. From the “connected” home controlling thermostats, lights, and appliances to large scale environmental, utilities and logistics the market is growing rapidly. According to McKinsey and Company research firm, “the Internet of Things offers a positive economic impact of $4 trillion to $11 trillion annually by 2025.”
Vermont Energy Control Systems offers a range of products which can used to control complex applications ranging from entire building environmental systems, to production and processing equipment. VECS’s products are currently in use in commercial operations which include greenhouses, lumber kilns, and food facilities.
VECS’s mission is to provide tools, information, and products to organizations and individuals needing affordable solutions to control and monitor complex systems. The applications for VECS products are endless, and the ability to monitor and analyze remotely from a simple web interface which does not require high tech skills, is a perfect solution to help your business take advantage of the evolving “smart” world.
