Republican U.S. Senate candidate Scott Milne rolled out his second political ad of the election Thursday, another attack ad focused exclusively on Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy’s decades-long career in Washington.

“Scott Milne will fight for real campaign finance reform,” a narrator says in the spot. “And unlike 42-year incumbent Patrick Leahy, he refuses all corporate special interest contributions. And supports term limits so people come first, not the careers of professional politicians.”

Campaign manager Elise Milne, the candidate’s daughter, said the campaign would not comment on whether the ad would be circulated on television airwaves, or instead just be available on YouTube. According to a campaign finance report, Milne has only $34,000 available to spend.

Milne’s first ad, which diagnosed Leahy with a “pernicious” political disease, has not been up on the commercial airwaves, according to Federal Communication Commission archives.

Milne’s October report with the Federal Election Commission also shows no money spent to put the first ad on the air. There was however, $9,975 paid to WeRPolitics, a political ad firm in Maryland.

The ad comes out a day after a Vermont Public Radio poll gave Leahy a comfortable lead over Milne — 59 percent to 22 percent.

On Tuesday, Leahy unveiled his latest television advertisement, entitled “Grateful,” where the senator highlights his work on a program to help police obtain bulletproof vests.
