JOHNSON, VT—Drew Cameron, founding member of the Combat Paper Project, will discuss the organization’s community-based workshops for veterans around the country in a talk at 7 p.m. Aug. 29 in Room 207 Bentley Hall at Johnson State College.

Cameron, an Army veteran and artist who helps other vets deal with post-traumatic stress by turning military uniforms into paper, will be in residence Aug. 29-31 at JSC.

The Aug. 29 event, and others during the residency, are free and open to the public.

During his residency, Cameron, based in San Francisco, will conduct workshops in classes and meetings on the campus quad.

The Combat Paper project grew from Cameron’s need to process his experiences as an Army artillery member in the Iraq war. The project has been featured on PBS:

The Aug. 29 talk is part of Johnson’s Creative Audience class for first-year students.
