Support us at the $120 level and we’ll thank you with the VTDigger watchman’s cap
We are so grateful to the more than 650 readers who have donated $117,000 to VTDigger over the past few weeks. To those of you who have done your part, thank you for helping to keep VTDigger’s reporting strong.
If you read us every day, and you haven’t given, we sure would appreciate your help. VTDigger offers news for free, in order to ensure that all Vermonters have access to the news and information they need to participate in our democratic society.
But the digging doesn’t come cheap. We employ professional reporters who are dedicated to beat reporting on topics you care about — health care, education, the environment, politics, business, state finances and criminal justices. In addition, we are now covering municipal government in Burlington and issues of statewide import in Windham County.
VTDigger is a lean, online only nonprofit. We invest our resources in technology and reporters. We don’t need to buy paper, pay for printing or maintain broadcast towers. Our office space is small and our furniture is old, but our spirits are high. We believe our watchdog reporting on government and business is a much-needed public service, and we are buoyed by Vermonters who support our thorough reporting.
Between 135,000 and 150,000 people come to VTDigger each month for the kind of news and narratives that shed insight into the culture, people and politics of Vermont. If you clicked on this post, we know you’re one of those readers, and we urge you to help support our reporters.
If you give $120 or more, we’ll thank you with our cool new hat. It’s black. It’s got the VTDigger logo. And you can wear it stacking wood, swishing down the slopes or even in the house when the below zero weather comes.
Many, many thanks.
