On 27 April 2015, The Vermont Veterans’ Home presented our signature memory care program “Namaste” to the Veterans Administration VISN1 Regional Team Leaders at the Bedford VA Hospital in Massachusetts. The two presenters, Christina Cullinane BSN, RN, DNS and Michele Burgess Therapeutic Recreational Director covered seven topics related to the program. They included: start-up cost, behavior non-medication intervention, proven reduction in psychotropic drug use, types of programs inherent to Namaste, staff requirements, lessons learned and positive outcomes associated with this program. If you would like to learn more about this and many other non-pharmaceutical interventions here at the Vermont Veterans’ Home please contact Jackie Paddock at 802-447-6542.

The Vermont Veterans’ Home is a vibrant residential and healthcare campus for Veterans. The Vermont Veterans’ Home staff works to fulfill America’s promise to care for our Country’s Veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star parents.
