With a week to go in the campaign, Libertarian candidate for governor Dan Felicano will launch his first television ad Wednesday.

The 30-second spot will run through Election Day on WCAX and WPTZ, Felicano adviser Darcie Johnston said Tuesday.

The ad is entitled “Experience Not Party” and begins with Feliciano saying “Like you, I believe Vermont’s best days are ahead.” That line is nearly identical to one contained in an ad produced by the Republican State Leadership Committee that has aired in Vermont on behalf of GOP legislative candidates. RSLC is a national political action committee that has spent roughly $300,000 in Vermont this campaign season.

Johnston said she wasn’t aware of the similarity.

The Feliciano campaign spent $7,896 with WCAX, according to campaign filings. No mass media filing for Feliciano’s ad buy with WPTZ was posted as of Tuesday evening.

Feliciano has raised just over $10,000 for his campaign and has contributed an additional $30,000 of his own money.

Rebublican candidate Scott Milne launched his second TV ad Tuesday.
