POULTNEY– Green Mountain College’s Sustainable MBA program has been recognized among U.S. News & World Report’s 2013 Best Online Graduate Business Programs. Established as the first online “green” MBA in the country in 2006, the College’s program ranked 85th of 860 surveyed institutions that grant an online graduate degree in business, including public, private, and for-profit institutions. GMC’s program was the only MBA program ranked that focuses on sustainable business.
The institutions are ranked on many factors including reputation for excellence among peer institutions, faculty credentials, student satisfaction as measured by retention and graduation rates, accreditation, and academic and career support services offered to students.
In addition to this most recent accolade by U.S. News & World Report, Green Mountain College was named the #1 and #2 green school by Sierra magazine, the only college in the nation to place in the top 10 two years in a row. The Princeton Review featured GMC in their 2011 Guide to the “Top 311 Green Colleges” and their “322 Green Colleges” in 2012.
“This ranking reflects the dedication of our faculty who are both knowledgeable business practitioners and skilled in online teaching,” said Green Mountain College Provost William Throop. “Because of the unique design of our program, our students develop close relationships with faculty and their peers—key factors that deepen their learning experience and position them for rewarding careers.”
During the two-year program, students also participate in an on-campus residency at the beginning of each academic year. Each residency features a nationally recognized visiting scholar who leads workshops and discussions on contemporary issues in business.
