Five Progressive incumbents returned to office; party picks up two more seats
Progressives also picked up two seats in the State House. Chris Pearson of Burlington was elected to the open seat created with the retirement of six-term Representative David Zuckerman. Anthony Pollina became the second Progressive elected to the State Senate, taking the Washington County seat left open by Phil Scott.
Dennett alleges Sorrell signed confidentiality agreement with Entergy
Charlotte Dennett, the Progressive candidate for Attorney General, has requested the release, under Vermont’s Public Records Law, of a confidentiality agreement that Sorrell signed with Entergy in early 2010, around the same time he began investigating the nuclear company. Sorrell’s investigation was a response to widespread reports that Entergy officials had misled state regulators about the existence of underground pipes carrying radioactive materials at their Vermont Yankee plant.
