40th Army Band concert to be held in House Chamber Jan. 11
This concert is the opener for the annual “Farmer’s Night” series of concerts and entertainment at the State House during the legislative session. The 7:30 PM concert is free and open to the public.
Shumlin thanks Vermont National Guard for disaster assistance
Gov. Peter Shumlin and Agency of Transportation Secretary Brian Searles on Thursday at a barbeque in Rockingham thanked Vermont National Guard members for more than a month of exemplary service helping the state recover from flood damage caused by Tropical Storm Irene.

The Vermont National Guard will be receiving 200 Engineers from the Maine National Guard this evening, joining with members of the 131st Engineers in helping to reestablish passable roadways so people can safely move about their communities. The Vermont Guard has requested fifty dump trucks from other States National Guard units that will support these critical roadway repairs.
