CVPS, GMP sue Entergy-Vermont Yankee over cooling tower failures
Seeking to recover costs resulting from Vermont Yankee cooling tower failures in 2007 and 2008, the state’s two largest distribution utilities have filed a lawsuit against Entergy-Vermont Yankee (Entergy) in Vermont Superior Court in Windham County.
US Forest Service approves Vermont wind power facility
The facility will consist of 15 state-of-the-art 2.0 megawatt turbines that will stand 389 feet tall, from the ground to blade tip. The turbines are expected to produce approximately 92,506 MWh with a nameplate capacity of 30 megawatts.
Green Mountain Power to conserve over 2,700 acres as part of wind development
Green Mountain Power Green Mountain Power (GMP) has announced that it will conserve more than 2,700 acres of land in the Northeast Kingdom. The land is being protected as part of GMP’s Kingdom Community Wind project on Lowell Mountain that will produce enough electricity to supply 24,000 homes.

Seven Lowell wind protesters arrested
Early Monday morning a group of concerned citizens wearing shirts that read, “Ridges are Not Renewable” protested the Lowell wind project by occupying land currently being disputed between Green Mountain Power and the neighboring property owner.
