Who Should Attend and Why:
This special day at the Vermont State House allows local officials to learn firsthand about the status of pending legislation from VLCT and Vermont Municipal Clerks’ and Treasurers’ Association representatives, attend legislative hearings, and speak with their representatives and senators at the Vermont Legislature. The morning’s agenda will include policy briefing roundtable discussions on transportation revenues and priorities conducted by VTrans Secretary Brian Searles, public safety
and corrections by Rutland Mayor Chris Louras, and homestead filings and property tax issues led by a representative of the Tax Department’s Outreach Office. Newly re-elected Governor Peter Shumlin has been invited to speak at the luncheon.
