VTDigger’s Twitter account was hacked this morning with a direct message that read: You seen what this person is saying about you? terrible things.

Though VTDigger.org will continue to publish stories during the holiday week, we will not be approving comments from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1. We’re taking a short break to spend time with friends and family.
VTDigger.org welcomes three new staffers
VTDigger.org is proud to announce the hire of three new staff members since September: Alan Panebaker, our first full-time reporter; Michael Knight, our full-time sponsorship director; and Paul Berlejung, our part-time business manager.
VTDigger.org recognized by national media groups
The Knight Foundation formally announced grant awards last week, including a matching grant to the Vermont Community Foundation that will benefit VTDigger.org; Poynter.org included VTDigger.org in stories about the investigative and entrepreneurial news landscape in the United States.

If I only take one thing away from this summer, really, it’s that no matter how much research I do, how many interviews I conduct, or how many meetings I attend, I’ll never write the perfect story.

Vermont Community Foundation receives $104,000 Knight Foundation grant for VTDigger.org
The grant, awarded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, will allow VTDigger.org to hire a full-time investigative reporter to cover health care and energy issues in Vermont.
