  1. CONGRATULATIONS VSAC! I’m so glad to hear of the new servicing contract and wish you all the best! I’ve been retired from VSAC for 10 years but enjoy keeping in touch with my friends who are still there! I have always been proud of the service you provide and the great Team that has made it possible. Love you guys! Jeane Scherr

  2. Congratulations VSAC. VSAC is an amazing organization that takes quality of service to students to a level few organizations can match. I started my career in financial aid at VSAC and the extensive and rigorous training I received as a VSAC loan counselor ten years ago has served me well in serving students throughout my career.

  3. I just got a letter from them that says I own VSAC money, but I have an account with the Federal Direct Loan Association with an automatic debit every month. I don’t know why they are saying I also owe them money. I am abroad and do not have any way of contacting them. This sounds like a complete scam to rip off student loan borrowers and charge them twice. I also never borrowed money from them.

VTD requires that all commenters identify themselves by first and last name. You may wonder why we don't accept anonymous comments. The short answer is: We want to keep the discourse civil.

You might rightly ask, since most online newspapers accept anonymous posts from readers, what makes VTD so special?

The long answer is: Anonymous comments don't support our mission. We are a nonprofit news organization dedicated to enhancing democracy through in-depth journalism. Our role is to foster a civil online discourse, and one very simple and effective way to do that is to require commenters to identify themselves. This isn't a new idea, of course. This is the way newspapers have treated letters to the editor since time immemorial.

As a result of our comment policy, VTD has created a safe zone for readers who want to engage in a thoughtful discussion on a range of subjects. We hope you join the conversation.
