Wright Announces Broad Political Support in Campaign Team
Burlington, VT – At the Miller Center this afternoon Kurt Wright rolled out key support to his campaign team for his race for mayor of Burlington.
Wright said that he was honored and humbled to have such broad support from people with various political backgrounds.
John Ewing, a Democrat and member of the Burlington Parks & Recreation Commission and Charlie Smith, a Republican and a local financial consultant have been named as Co-chairs of the Wright for Mayor Campaign team.
Ewing said, “The City has serious problems requiring an able and experienced leader. Kurt Wright’s long service on the City Council demonstrates that he is the most qualified to be mayor. Having a thorough understanding of the issues I have watched him work very effectively across party lines. For these and similar reasons it is my pleasure to serve as co-chair of his campaign to be Mayor of Burlington.”
Smith said, “Kurt Wright is the only candidate for mayor to present a concrete, specific plan to fix the very large financial problems in the City of Burlington. We need a mayor with experience, skill in bringing people together, and unflinching honesty about the big issues if we are to put Burlington back on a sound financial footing. Kurt Wright is that leader.”
Wright also tapped Democrat City Councilor Dave Hartnett as his campaign manager and spokesman. Hartnett lead the effort to repeal Instant Runoff Voting in the March 2010 election
Harnett commented, “I am happy to join the Kurt Wright Campaign Team. As you can see by the people here today we come from all sorts of backgrounds and political affiliations, but we do share one important belief and that’s that we know that Kurt Wright is the best person who can lead our vibrant city forward. I look forward to working with the team to field a strong grassroots campaign that will make Kurt our next mayor.”

I strongly agree with their endorsements for Wright.
the other contenders are already starting off on the “kiss” foot (two lefts) by claiming to be Democrats and yet clearly wear the clothing of progressives. Burlington has certainly had enough of that fiscal irresponisble leadership (loosely used)and so has the state, for that matter.
Time to get back to values that have made us the responsible hard working tax payers that can be our way of life once again.
Get rid of the socialists, that are trying to ruin this state.
