AIV will hold its 91st Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 8, at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier . AIV’s annual meeting is the state’s leading forum for bringing together state and industry leaders on issues critical to manufacturers and other key Vermont businesses.
With continued uncertainty over the course and pace of economic recovery as well as the future of federal and state fiscal policies that could significantly impact our business climate, we will be focusing this year’s meeting on the theme of “Building Prosperity out of Turmoil and Change: A Path Toward Confidence in Government, Community, and Economic Wellbeing.”
We will hear from native Vermonter Bruce M. Lisman, retired Chairman of the JP Morgan Global Equity Division and previously a senior managing director of Bear Stearns Companies. Mr. Lisman, who has recently founded Campaign for Vermont , will share his view of the fundamental economic transformation underway and outline opportunities to embark upon a bold path with clarity of purpose and mission to pursue economic prosperity without abandoning our social values and traditions.
We will also hear from Joseph Henchman, Vice President of Legal & State Projects and Vice President of Operations at the Washington-based Tax Foundation, on the significant changes that could take place in federal fiscal policy and their impact on the states.
Lt. Governor Phil Scott will address attendees and give them an opportunity to ask questions about the issues that interest them most.
Both members and non-members are welcome to register by faxing or mailing the registration form available on the homepage of the AIV website, www.aivt.org, or email [email protected] to request a form be sent to you.
