  1. Well bespoke, and, like the falsehoods, needs to be repeated over and over and over again.

  2. Bill, keep repeating this. A truth you know by living it, walking the terrain first hand, not a theory by looking at out dated,or poorly formed map. Many small business, great success stories in Vermont: Ben and Jerry’s, Green Mountian Cofffe Roasters, Concept 2, Vermont Teddy Bear, GroSolar, Seventh Generation, three major wind turbine companies, and Chroma Technologies, Omega Optics to name only a few. Publish their ‘real stories’, what worked for them, what was the magic of Vermont for them, what would help them the most to grow and expand, and have a better work force here in Vermont. What are the ‘daily lived facts’ for them. That would help all of us, find and see the truth with greater clarity. Thanks for your op-ed aticles, VPR, Free Press,VT Digger, and others. Keep them coming. Many of us read them, hear them, and like them. Thank you for sharing what you know to be true. It is ‘oxygen and light,’ for A Vermont democracy in search of higher discernment, to find a higher wisdom. Keep writing. Thanks!

  3. Asking the business community if Vermont has a good climate in which to do business is like asking the wealthy if their tax breaks are big enough or asking prison inmates if their sentences are short enough.

  4. I find the Dubie for Governor ads on WCAX interesting.

    Please note:

Narrated by mentor Jim Douglas. Apparently Brian is incapable or reluctant to voice his own (lack of) ideas and opinions. He certainly seems afraid to speak his mind freely when there are reporters present.

There is no endorsement disclaimer by the candidate at the end of the ad as is typical with paid political ads. Hmm… So whose message is this? Is this one of those bought and paid for via RGA donation from Rupert Murdoch?

Comment policy

VTD requires that all commenters identify themselves by first and last name. You may wonder why we don't accept anonymous comments. The short answer is: We want to keep the discourse civil.

You might rightly ask, since most online newspapers accept anonymous posts from readers, what makes VTD so special?

The long answer is: Anonymous comments don't support our mission. We are a nonprofit news organization dedicated to enhancing democracy through in-depth journalism. Our role is to foster a civil online discourse, and one very simple and effective way to do that is to require commenters to identify themselves. This isn't a new idea, of course. This is the way newspapers have treated letters to the editor since time immemorial.

As a result of our comment policy, VTD has created a safe zone for readers who want to engage in a thoughtful discussion on a range of subjects. We hope you join the conversation.
