Dubie Takes Run for Governor on a 26.2-Hour Campaign Marathon
Essex Junction, VT – Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie will take his run for Governor on a 26.2-hour campaign marathon, meeting with voters around the clock in ten counties around Vermont.
“Vermonters work hard for their money, and they deserve a Governor who will work hard for them,” Dubie said. “Our dedicated workforce is not just made up of people who work 9-to-5 jobs; there are shift workers, fire fighters, and thousands of others hard at work while most of us are sleeping. They know what it’s like to put in a hard day’s – or night’s – work, and as Governor I will cut taxes and control state spending to make sure they keep more of the money they earn.”
The starting gun for the 26.2-hour marathon will sound on Vermont’s top-rated morning radio show, “The Charlie, Ernie and Lisa Show” on WVMT-AM Newstalk 620, at 7:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7. From there, Dubie will take his race for Governor to St. Albans, Enosburg Falls, Burlington, Middlebury, Rutland, Bennington, Brattleboro, Springfield, Hartford, Wells River, St. Johnsbury, Essex Junction and Barre. He will be cheered to the finish line at the Pit Stop Diner in Barre 26.2 hours later, at 9:22 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
“I am so energized by the momentum behind this campaign,” Dubie said. “Everywhere I go, people tell me they support my message of cutting taxes and red tape and expanding Vermont’s economy so we can grow jobs. The campaign has knocked on more than 50,000 doors, have almost 10,000 fans on Facebook, and have delivered 7,500 yard signs – and those numbers are growing every day.”
