Democratic Candidates for Governor to Debate at Sterling College
Craftsbury Common, VT — Four of the five Democratic candidates for Vermont governor will head to Craftsbury Common to take part in a gubernatorial candidates’ debate at Sterling College on June 17th at 7pm in Dunbar Hall.
State Senators Susan Bartlett, Doug Racine and Peter Shumlin, and former state Senator Matt Dunne will participate in the Thursday evening discussion. Secretary of State Deb Markowitz is not able to attend. Jon Margolis, writer, former national political correspondent for the Chicago Tribune, and adjunct professor of political science at the University of Vermont will serve as moderator. Candidates will answer questions from the audience—community members are invited to attend.

I really enjoy reading Jon Margolis’ political pieces (in this case, Why So Many Democrats, May 28) because he gives such breadth of perspective. His wiriting has a sense of authority that comes from covering so much for so long. I think he’ll make a great moderator.
