51 Looks Like a Good Year
Essex Junction, VT – Lt. Governor Brian Dubie announced that his 51st birthday fundraiser raised over $115,000 and was attended by 430 people.
“I am truly humbled by last night’s strong show of support for my campaign for governor. When I decided to have a birthday fundraiser I set the goal to raise $30,000 and sell 150 $51 tickets. To raise over $115,000 in one night and have 430 people buy tickets is beyond my expectations.
“As I travel the state, I hear over and over that Vermont’s tax burden is costing us jobs and that the state’s burdensome regulatory environment thwarts job creation and discourages new employers from locating in Vermont. I am running for governor because I believe that state government should act as a partner, not an adversary with the job creators of our state. We must restrain state spending, cut taxes and right-size government. We must simplify and streamline our permitting and regulatory systems across state government. I believe in the workers of Vermont. If we simply remove the barriers to success hard working Vermonters will lead us back to prosperity.
“The success of last night’s event shows that my pro-jobs message is connecting with Vermonters. As the campaign moves forward I look forward to sharing my vision with Vermonters in all parts of our great state.”
