Join us on Wednesday, January 27 from Noon to 2 pm for the annual Vermont Chamber of Commerce Legislative Leadership Luncheon at the Capitol Plaza in Montpelier.
During the luncheon, Vermont Chamber members will meet with legislative leaders to discuss issues that are important to the business community. Governor Jim Douglas, Lt. Governor Brian Dubie, Speaker of the House Shap Smith and Senate President Pro Tempore Peter Shumlin will give updates on the legislative session and discuss the need for finding a balanced solution to solving the state’s Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund crisis. Other topics of discussion will include funding for travel and tourism and rolling back the capital gains and estate taxes as well as other economic issues like job training and cash incentives that will help businesses retain and grow jobs in Vermont.
“This annual event provides an opportunity for our members to express their thoughts and concerns about Vermont’s business needs with our legislative leadership,” said Betsy Bishop, President of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. “Our goal is to facilitate a dialogue between the business community and policy leaders.
